Among them, magnon thermal conductivity, which originates from the excitation of paired electron spins, is promising for the advanced thermal management applications that enable dynamic control of heat flow. This is because of its high, anisotropic thermal conductivity at room temperature and its dynamic controllability. In this study, we report nanosheet fabrications from polycrystalline La5Ca9Cu24O41 to enhance the control width. We obtained that the nanosheets with a thickness of about 3 nm are obtained via immersion of the polycrystals in a NaOH aqueous solution. We propose the exfoliation model based on the chemical reaction between the (La/Ca)2Cu2O3 subsystem and NaOH solution. The nanosheet fabrications can also lead to new research development on spin-ladder system and other strongly correlated cuprates. The origin of the strength is residual compressive stress induced by ion exchange, and the stress evaluation has been performed via the photoelastic effect. However, for a deep understanding of the nature of the strength and development of stronger glasses, we need a method directly connected to atomic-scale glass structures. Here, we propose a method based on the &#34;stuffing&#34; effect, where we can determine the residual stress non-contactively and non-destructively with a high spatial resolution using Boson, D-1, D-2, and A(1) peaks in micro-Raman spectra. Finally, we show a plausible depth dependence of the residual stress.The strength of glass can be increased post-production by treatment with chemical processes, and such materials are used in everyday devices such as mobile phones. Here, the authors report a non-invasive method based on micro-Raman spectroscopy to analyse the compressive stress responsible for the increased strength of the treated glass. Here, a fabrication method to provide them with high thermal conductivity while retaining their optical transparency is proposed. It consists of dispersing similar to 20 mu m MgO crystals in a glass matrix and matching their refractive indexes to prevent the decrease of the oxide glass optical transparency due to light scattering. The dispersion of the MgO crystals increased the thermal conductivity of the original glass by similar to 50% and the new glass still exhibited optical transparency. We obtained a depth variation of Raman spectra and an ion-exchange rate of Na for K was determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. We found that a peak position around 1100 cm(-1) in the Raman spectra is shifted to higher wavenumber and the ion-exchange rate of Na for K increases with a decreasing depth when shallower than similar to 30 mu m. This correlation can be qualitatively explained as follows: compression of a TO2 tetrahedra network (T = Si or Al) induced by the ion exchange gives rise to an increase in frequency of vibrational modes of the TO4 tetrahedra. The materials are promising for active control of thermal energy in microelectronic devices because of high and anisotropic thermal conduction, its controllability, and electric insulation. Nevertheless, research on these materials has been limited to that concerning theoretical perspectives and investigation of physical properties using large single crystals. In this study, we adopt glass-ceramics technique to synthesize these materials: We prepared melt-quenched multicomponent oxides including SrO and CuO, and checked its glass-forming ability and crystallization behaviors by heating. In this study, we have produced a glass-ceramics that contains spin-chain compound SrCuO2 and have found that the glass-ceramics yields high thermal conductivity of similar to 5W K-1 m(-1) even at room temperature. The glass-ceramics is fabricated through crystallization of inhomogeneous melt-quenched oxides made from SrCO3, CuO, Li2CO3, Ga2O3, and Al2O3. Transmission electron microscopy and X-ray and electron diffraction reveal that SrCuO2 crystallites with a size of 100-200 nm are precipitated in the glass-ceramics. The highness of the thermal conductivity is attributable to two sources: one is elongation of phonon mean free path due to the crystallization of the inhomogeneous structure or structural ordering. The other is emergence of the heat carriers, spinons, in the SrCuO2. This highly thermal conductive glass-ceramics is expected to be utilized as base materials for heat-flow control devices. Frequency dependence of the impedance suggests that the sample under photodoping can be approximated by an equivalent electrical circuit. A thickness of photodoped layers, which is estimated from the impedance, is in agreement with a geometrical thickness measured by an atomic force microscope for chemically etched samples. Under the photodoping (with zero bias voltages), a photocurrent remains constant at similar to 5 pA, and near the completion it increases to similar to 1 nA, which is followed with a gradual decrease. By applying a bias voltage between the top (semi-transparent Al) and bottom (Ag) electrodes, we can change a photodoping rate by an order. Atomic force microscope images in alkali-etched samples with x = 80 mol % show nano-scale clips, which are ascribable to isolated GeS2 clusters. Transmission electron microscope images and small angle X-ray scattering patterns suggest that the glass with x - 50 has pronounced heterogeneous structures in nanoscales. Composition dependence of an etching rate exhibits a characteristic change at x = 60, which can be interpreted as a percolation threshold of tetrahedral GeS4 units. The change in emission color is based on the amorphous-to-crystalline phase transformation in a Mn-containing zincogermanate glass. The tetragermanate phases indicated clear red emission based on a E-2 <-(4)A(2) transition, and the entire substitution resulting in an LiNaGe4O9 phase provided an improvement of quenching temperature for the emission. Furthermore, the LiNaGe4O9 phase synthesized by solid-state reaction showed a high internal quantum yield and red color purity, demonstrating it to be a possible candidate as a rare-earth-free red phosphor. To solve it, we aim to develop a new material that can electrically control heat flow. In this work, we focused on spin ladder materials (La5Ca9Cu24O41) whose heat carrier is a unique particle, magnon. To scavenge and reuse the thermal energy effectively, novel heat transport materials and structures are required. In this study, focusing on spin thermal conductivity materials possessing fast heat transport due to spin ordering, and glass and glass-ceramics, being of high shapeability, and additionally nano-crystalline film, we develop the novel thermal management materials.
