For further innovations in these products, studies focusing on "adhesion" in addition to the interfacial phenomena are necessary. In order to carry out such a focused study, we established the Adhesion and Interfacial Phenomena Research Laboratory in AIST in December 2015. The objective of this research laboratory is to promote research and development intended for a wide range of products ranging from basic ones to those requiring next-generation adhesives, by collaborating with the industry, academia, and government.
