Understanding how much of these swings were due to external factors and how much is due to policy, how inflation expectations have behaved, and the causes and consequences of differential inflation rates among advanced economies are of primary interest for policymakers and private sector decision makers alike. This meeting will bring together some of the most influential researchers from Europe and Japan to discuss these topics.
